Yahoo! Free ice cream!

Happy Birthday to Yahoo!, the site that graciously gave me permission to parody them back in 1995. And to celebrate their 10th anniversary, Yahoo is giving away FREE ICE CREAM for today only (Wednesday March 2, 2005).
And this reminds me… my site will ALSO be celebrating its 10 year anniversary later this year. Unfortunately, I don’t quite remember the exact date, but I do remember that I had made the Yahoo’s Picks of the Week for October 9, 1995 about a week or two after I had launched my site. Holy cow, I can’t believe I found that link again. Do you remember when my logo used to look like this?
Ah… good times.
To celebrate MY ten year anniversary, I will now giveaway to all of my faithful Yank Blog readers (all twelve of you) my secret family recipe for ice CUBES:
1. Move to Chicago
2. Pour water into tray or similar vessel
3. Open window
4. Check every 27 minutes exactly.
Serves 1-8000 party guests. Allow to cool before serving.
Here’s to another ten years for both of us!

I feel so honored to have this secret ice cube recipe. It sure beats the “instant” ice cubes I’ve been buying in the store.

Thank you for this low-cal treat idea! And, with the high chlorine content of our Chicagoland water, an extra cube or two thrown in with the laundry will bleach those hard to get out stains!

Happy birthday, Yahoo! I was actually planning on having 8,000 party guests over at my place this Saturday and I didn’t know what to serve. You really saved my butt on that one.
