Recording Dates
Astute Al-followers have noticed that the Recording Dates page on WeirdAl.com has been updated to reflect recent visits to the studio. All it says is that six new songs have begun recording. No titles or album name given.
Judging by the history of recording dates on that page, it looks like these are the originals. Then, anywhere from a couple months to a YEAR (eep!), Al will have the legal clearance to start recording his parodies. Two months after that is usually when the whole package hits the stores. Here’s hoping that it’ll only take a couple months at most to get the artists’ permissions and legal clearances.

Have to say, I can’t wait. My experience when it comes to his music was that I, sad to say, hadn’t followed his career or music much. So, when I went to my first Yankovic concert in ‘04 the fun hit me like a ton of bricks, and tracking down all his CDs had me being like a kid in a candy store. It’s been a blast really to hear almost all of it for the first time! Even compiled my excercise tunes CD with all Al music. The words treadmill and fun had never gone together in my mind b4!

I can’t wait. I already have all 11 of his main albums, the Ultimate Video Collection, and UHF on DVD. This will make an excellent addition to my collection…(laughs evilly)…Sorry.
