Bid early, bid often!
Since the holidays are essentially upon us, it’s time to give back a little. That’s why Al-oholics Anonymous is giving you, not one…not two…not THREE…but FOUR…FOUR new video clips to the site! WHOA! Here’s what’s just been added to the archives:
- Weird Al gets down and polkas with Frankie Yankovic (no relation) from the 1986 special “Weird Al’s Guide to the Grammys”.
- Weird Al interviews R.E.M’s Michael Stipe from the Al-Tv in 1999.
- Al presents the Sexiest Video award from the My Vh1 Awards back in 2000. Al used this during his Poodle Hat tour.
- The collection of Holiday Survival Guide from this years “I Love the Holidays” special on VH1.
WOW! That’s great! And there may even be a few MORE clips added before the end of the year. Happy Holidays!
Oh, and in case you missed Al’s voice over appearances on “The Grim Adventures of Billy And Mandy” the episode Nigel Planter and the Chamber Pot of Secrets will air on Wednesday morning at 8:00AM EST and One Crazy Summoner will air on Sunday Dec 4th at 2:30pm EST. Both will air on Cartoon Network and as always, check your local listings before you go setting your Tivo or VCR.

Wow, it’s almost been twenty six and half minutes since VH1 put out another “I Love the…” series! Don’t forget to check for Weird Al on their latest offering “I Love the Holidays” coming up tomorrow (November 20th). I think in this one, Al wrestles against Michael Ian Black in a swimming pool filled with eggnog dressed as Santas. Kids, go ahead and try that at home.

By now, you’ve probably downloaded all the songs from the 1996 tribute album, Prosthetic Lips and said to yourself “Oh if only there were more!” Well, calm down because now there is….sorta. Chris, of the Hot Waffles just wants you to know that some friends of his did a cover of “Nature Trail To Hell” and it’s on a Halloween compliation album called Mr. Snail’s Halloween Party, and the best part is, IT DOESN’T SUCK! Check it out.

Back in the days of yore, ok it was 1996, a bunch of fans organized the first tribute album to “Weird Al” called “Prosthetic Lips”. The only way you could get a copy was if you knew someone, or you knew someone’s brother who knew someone, or you knew someone’s attorney who knew someone’s garbage man, who knew someone’s hibachi dealer’s third cousin named Bernie that had heard of a guy who once found the album under a pile of dirty laundry in his best friend’s basement. Since then it’s mostly been out of print, but now it’s available for you to download for FREE. That’s right. FREE! It’s free and legal MP3s! There’s a few cover tunes, a few parodies of Al’s songs, and a few originals, and they’re all created by fans much like you, but probably more dedicated than you since you haven’t done anything nearly as worthy or long lasting. You’ll only find them on the official Prosthetic Lips site. Go check ‘em out and start downloadin’!

Woo woo! At the Official Weird Al Site, Al personally answers more questions from fans, talking about his recent appearance on Extreme Makeover, the full lyrics to his song on the show, I Love the 80s, and much much more. C’mon, go check out the Ask Al section. You know you want to. All the cool kids are doing it!
AND…
AL LOVES THE HOLIDAYS!
Yes, Al appears on yet another VH1 special – huzzah! “I Love The Holidays” premieres on November 20 (check your local listings for show times). And look for Al on “I Love The 70′s II” sometime early next year!
November 12, 2005
Don’t forget to set your VCRs or Tivos or whatever magical device you have to record “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” for this Sunday (November 13th) as Weird Al makes a special cameo appearance.

Howdy folks! It’s your friendly internet reporter, Happy Steve, here to serve up some yummy Weird Al sightings to you.
One of my many robotic minions has just turned up this tasty morsel… Apparently our buddy Al recently attended a launch party at the B.B. King’s Blues Bar for Sandra Boynton’s Dog Train as mentioned in this blog post by OK Go’s guitarist Andy Ross. Not a whole lot of info about Al himself other than him popping on stage to introduce the Spin Doctors.
Well we here at Yank Blog are never satisfied with such meager details. Like zombies to your delicious buttery brains, we constantly hunger for more knowledge and refuse to rest until our appetites have been completely satiated. Luckily a quick search turns up Alex’s encounter with Al, with picture! Alex describes him as perfectly cool and friendly. Ahh… now THAT’S the kind of info that will suppress our munchies for now. Time for a nap!

Congrats to Al on finally getting his very first Platinum video – The “Ultimate Video Collection” DVD has just been certified Platinum by the RIAA!
Woo woo! Congratulations Al from the Yank Blog team, also.
