Dog Train

Oh man, the holiday season is right around the corner and you haven’t bought any presents yet. Do you know what the kids want these days? Dog Train: A Wild Ride on the Rock-and-Roll Side! Yeah that’s right. It’s Sandra Boynton’s third CD-and-book production featuring special guests like Hootie and the Blowfish, Blues Traveler, Spin Doctors and, at long last, the pairing of Kate Winslet and “Weird Al” Yankovic. Yes, after being separated at birth, spending a lifetime apart, and suddenly meeting while shopping at the same hardware store one day, these two are FINALLY back together again and singing “I Need A Nap”. Ahh, isn’t life grand? Dog Train is available in stores now.

Spoilers and a big decision

Ok, we all know Album 12 is coming out early next year and, happy-happy-joy-joy, the first of the major spoilers are already here!

The age old question is to spoil yourself or not? On one hand, you’ve waited this long, why should you have to wait any longer? On the other hand, it’s important to hear Al tell his jokes in the intended context. Then again, the information is out there at your fingertips, and others know, so why not you? But you can savor the surprise and suspense if only you wait just a little bit longer. AAAH, but just knowing that there’s work in progress on the album gets your adrenaline going! Do you already know what you’re getting before you rip open your birthday gifts at 12:01 a.m. or are you always surprised when you leisurely open your gifts after dinner?

Now you have a big decision to make. The Yank Blog hopes you “literally rip out [your] hair, tormenting [yourself] on the potentially life-altering decision of whether to be spoiled or not”1 by clicking on the link below. The link below contains SPOILERS. But, what EEZ IT, man? You’ll have to click to find out.

November Desktop Calendar

November DesktopOh NO! It’s NOvember! That means it’s time for another desktop calendar. This months calendar comes to us from Judith Grossinger, a first time submitter. If she can submit something and get her entry picked then you can too…maybe…if it’s good, and doesn’t look like that piece of cheese that fell behind the refrigerator last month that you forgot about and now it’s all green with bits of moldy brown and orange covered in hair and bits of Honeycombs that also fell back there too and it’s so disgusting that even the Ed Bagley Jr. clone living in your walls wouldnt touch it…wow, you’re such a slob! If you have an idea that’s better than that, make it and send it on in for December.

Note: December includes several holidays, and you may be thinking about adding elements of Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanaza, Pearl Harbor Day, Boxing Day or Terri Garr’s birthday. Please try to refrain from this. Please keep you creations as non-religious and Terri Garr free as possible. They mostly don’t have anything to do with Al. You ARE free use images or depictions that reference his two holiday songs, The Night Santa Went Crazy or Christmas At Ground Zero. If you have questions, please ask first.
