AL IN THE STUDIO!
Al has finished recording and mixing the first six songs for his new album, and he’s back in the studio right now recording three more!
Woo! With all these updates, we can practically SEE the album in our hands!

Even once he finishes the last 3 songs, it still takes 2 months (or more) from that point until we can actually listen to it. So even if the next three were recorded tomorrow (which is not likely), it would still be late-April that we get it. But he probablly won’t be back in the studio until March/April at the earliest…which means no release until May/June (at the soonest).

When will this album be done? And why does WeirdAl.com say he’s in the studio “right now” recording these songs when the recording dates page clearly says he finished recording them over a week ago?

It takes longer than one day to record and mix songs. I’m sure once they decide to record some more songs, the site will be updated once again. Besides, if you read the bottom of the Recording Dates page, all dates posted are the first day of recording.

Al is simply recording the three longest songs ever made in history. It’s going to make “Albuquerque” feel like “Let Me Be Your Hog”. Aww yeah!

Well, you are pretty much the only person who hasn’t heard of Paul Wall. You know that one song with Nelly and Paul Wall? It’s called “Grillz”. This would be a sweet song for Weird Al to make a parody out of, because, come on, they are rapping about mouth jewelry… Who agrees with me?

Has anyone here tried to guess what bands or songs Al will parody this time? Bands that have been pretty popular in the last couple years… I for one will be extremely surprised if we don’t see a Green Day parody. Also wouldn’t be surprised to see a Black Eyed Peas or Kanye West parody. My brother guessed a Linkin Park/Lord of the Rings parody (“Reading ‘The Hobbit’”/”Breaking the Habit”) but that would break Al’s recent tradition of parodying an older song to sing about a movie. I’m also gonna take a stab at guessing that there’ll be a pop-punk-themed polka medley.
Any other bands/artists seem like obvious choices to parody?

Green Day “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” is a must!
He is into the kind of Fat/Diet songs, so I’d guess it would be something like:
“I weigh now quite a load
And boy has my pant size rapidly grown
Bag of Oreo’s
What I’d like to eat when my stomach growns
I need something to eat
But I am just so fat now as it seems
Eat some Krispy Kremes
Then take some laxitives
And I’m on the trone etc.”
That’s my best guess. I agree with the “Grillz” thing. That song really stands out. Kinda has the “It’s all about the Pentiums” possibility for it.
My guess is it would be about a guy with rotted teeth (parody of the video) and he is scared to go to the dentist, because he is terrified of the “Drillz”
