Does iTunes hurt Weird Al?
Remember when Al said that he makes more money off CD sales than he does off digital downloads? Well it turns out it that it may be a lot more. This article goes into the math behind it, and the surprising results of just how big the gap is — Weird Al Yankovic Says Digital Is a Raw Deal For Some Artists.
There’s some good discussion at the end of that article, and there’s also some further discussion here — How iTunes Hurts Weird Al. I haven’t read all the replies yet, so the standard warning of “read at your own risk” applies.

I always buy the actual physical cds, and a couple of each album that come out at that.
I’ve never been fond of the fact that anything bought off iTunes needs to be messed with in order for it to play on non-iPod devices.
Hopefully people will continue buying his Cd’s!

I buy the CDs, but I did buy the two tracks off of the permanent record that can’t be found on any other Cds. I don’t want to buy a whole box set when I have all the songs already…

I’ve Always Bought CD’S, Cassettes, And Even Vinyl In The Day. The Closest I Come To Downloading Is Copying The CD’s To My Media Player So I Can Hear Them On My Computer.

I dont know how you can afford not to buy the cd’s concidering all the special hidden features and stuff. Plus it just feels so good to pick up that brand new cd you just purchased, look at the solid brilliance you hold in your hands and shout victoriously that you finally got it, after waiting so long. Well… that might just be me…lol
