WALLPAPER!
More freebies from WeirdAl.com:
WALLPAPER!
For a limited time only, we are offering “Straight Outta Lynwood” wallpaper for your desktop at the low, low price of FREE! Click here to choose from a plethora of groovy resolutions.
Besides the obvious benefits of having Al on your desktop, another bonus is that the resolution is really nice on the wallpapers, so you can see the details on the cover that are lost in the smaller graphics that have been floating around weirdal.com and Al’s MySpace. So even if you don’t want to use it as your desktop wallpaper, it’s worth checking out anyway.
Alice Cooper helping kids
While we’re patiently waiting for the new album to arrive, here’s something completely different… From azcentral.com: Alice Cooper to break ground on Phoenix youth center
Cooper plans to help draw the line for local youth, namely around his own teen recreation center. The musician’s Christian nonprofit, Solid Rock Foundation, has begun fundraising efforts for a 20,000-square-foot facility that will include a recording studio, indoor basketball courts, a rock climbing wall, coffee house, game room and a concert hall.
…
In fact, he already has celebrity pals in mind to either perform or guest-lecture - artists like Ted Nugent, Cheap Trick and Weird Al Yankovic.
Pretty neat, eh? I’ve heard that Alice Cooper and his kids have been long-time fans of Weird Al. On a related note, check out this photo on WeirdAl.com of Al and Alice together.

Weird Al is SOL
It looks like we finally have the complete artwork for Weird Al’s new album, titled “Straight Outta Lynwood” and Al looks like he’s ready to take on the world. Ooh, check out the license plate for another 27 reference. As usual, the same image can be found on Al’s MySpace. While you’re there, listen to “Hardware Store”, “Your Horoscope For Today”, “Amish Paradise”, and of course “You’re Pitiful”.

Weird Al is in Da Hood
BAM! A larger pic has just emerged on The Official Weird Al site and on Al’s MySpace. Looks like Al’s hanging out in the hood. We got some graffiti on the left, some shoes hanging on wires on the right, and it looks like he’s holding something in his left hand… luggage perhaps? maybe an accordion? The head of Atlantic Records in a duffel bag? We’ll probably find out tomorrow.
Tease 2 and TWAS DVD
Woo! Another day, another larger image. Going to the Official Weird Al site or Al’s Myspace page reveals more of the new album cover (most likely). Here we see Al sporting a high school letter jacket. Any hardcore fan worth their weight in salt should know that Lynwood, California is where Al grew up and even graduated in high school as valedictorian. What will the rest of the album cover look like? Only time will tell.
And speaking of time, the release date for The Weird Al Show on DVD, August 15th, draws even closer. You’re all camping out in front of the stores in a sleeping bag like I am, right??? While you’re waiting, you can check out some awesome clips provided by Shout! Factory.

9.26.06 - Pic Tease
Well, yesterday the Official Weird Al site flashed us a giant “27 is 26″ sign which of course meant that the long-awaited new album will be released September 26th. NOW we are all treated to a splash image and then the date “9.26.06″. Woowoo! A glimpse of some new artwork! We can’t wait to see what comes next. Well, maybe we don’t have to. A fellow Al fan named yankofan tipped me off that the same picture can be found on Al’s Myspace. AAAANNDD… yankofan points out that MANY more pics can be uncovered simply by studying the filename: http://www.weirdal.com/tease2.jpg
And now, thanks to the shrewd detective skills of yankofan, we can all bask in sea of beauty from what the new album will look like:

Even More Images *Spoiler*
Sorry about not including any kind of “spoiler” warning in the last post. Guess I was a little too excited in bringing the masses a tasty morsel of things to come. Anyway, it looks like John K has posted even more mystery images on his blog. And WOW are these images risqué! I just can’t fathom what the music will be like. Yeah, these pics could be considered spoilerish, but to me they raise EVEN MORE questions than before. Seriously, how can you possibly resist the diabolical urge to click that link that could possibly spoil your wildest expectations?!? Will your tortured minds give in to its uncontrollable desires??? Can you withstand the temptation to click the link, that even now, beckons you ever closer? Will you succumb to the maddening urge to spoil yourself, at the mere click of a single link? The beautiful shiny link? The jolly candy-like link? Will you hold out? CAN you hold out?!?!?
