Good news, folks! More info has been posted on WeirdAl.com about the upcoming AL-TV special:
AL-TV!
That’s right, Al’s pirate satellite broadcasting transmitter will be powering up soon to take over the airwaves of VH-1 once again. Expect to see a lot of the videos from the new album, as well as an exclusive interview or two with some of Al’s close, personal celebrity friends. The takeover premieres on Friday, December 15 at 8 PM, and will most likely repeat on 12/18 at 4 PM, 12/19 at 1 AM and 12/20 at 1 PM (all times EST, check your local listings).
Hooray! Set your calendars!

From the amazing mind of Ryan Krzak (a.k.a. R. Wappin) comes this really well-made fan-created animated music video for Al’s song “Albuquerque”. The file is 10 Megabytes to download, so you folks on dial-up may want to go out and get a meal or two while this loads, but it’s definitely worth it. Nice job, Ryan!
(Thanks to Angela for reminding me about this.)

Over at Rehearsals.com, you can watch music artists prepare for concerts, television, recording sessions, etc… kinda like an online backstage pass. Al’s not on there unfortunately, but there IS a nice video of Taylor Hicks rehearsing “Do I Make You Proud”. About 5 1/2 minutes into it, he mentions Weird Al briefly and slips in “Do I Creep You Out” a few times with a smile. Dunno if he’ll do that for his concerts, but personally I think his fans would get a big kick out of it.

Comedy Kings JibJab and Weird Al Yankovic Break New Ground with Video Parody of American Idol Winner
“We are honored to have had the opportunity to work with comedic great Weird Al. His body of work has defined the field of musical satire and parody for decades and we had an incredible time working together,” said Gregg and Evan Spiridellis, co-founders of JibJab. “We also admire the incredible job he has done leveraging the Internet to build a one-on-one relationship with his fan base.”
“I’ve always been a great fan of JibJab’s comedic sensibility, and it’s been a real pleasure working with them,” said “Weird Al” Yankovic. “JibJab is changing the paradigm for the way multimedia content is distributed and it’s very exciting for me to be a part of that.”

Al just posted a new MySpace blog entry. First, of course, to mention the new video by JibJab and describe his experiences with them. It’s also getting promoted at MSN.com and might even some TV time next month on a little, tiny, minuscule, microscopic VH1 special called AL-TV! That’s right! The one-hour-of-Weird-Al-goodness has been confirmed for mid-December. Hooray!
Additionally, Al talks about his Tonight Show performance, the “Get Your Nerdy On” video, his upcoming performance on VH1′s “Big in ’06″ Awards on December 3rd. Also, don’t forget to mark your calendars to watch Al presenting at the American Music Awards next Tuesday, Nov 21st. Woo!

A message from Weird Al Star Fund graphics coordinator, Adrian Vazquez:
It is my pleasure to present to you:
The 2007 ALbum-a-Month Fan Art ALendar
Every month features a fan’s interpretation of a given album, moving chronologically from January with the debut album “Weird Al” Yankovic, all the way to December with a little album you might have heard of entitled Straight Outta Lynwood. Artist credits can be found on the product page for the calendar if you click on, surprisingly enough, “View Artist Credits”.
Order early, order often, order one for all your friends (and two for your enemies, so that they have to go through the trouble of figuring out what to do with the second one).
Enjoy!
Adrian
A subtle, yet awesome update on WeirdAl.com:
BIG AL!
Al was recently nominated for a VH1 “Big In ’06″ Award in the category of “Big Download” (the track that earned the most Internet buzz). Vote if you like, and be sure to watch the show on December 3… Al and the band will be performing live!
See? Didn’t I tell you it was awesome???
