Big in 06 Wrap-up
Well unfortunately, Al did not take home the shiny trophy for Best Web Hit. That honor went to… LonelyGirl15?!?!? Wha??? Really? Um… okay… Anyway, shortly after that Ice-T with his wife CoCo gave a REALLY great introduction to Al, getting everybody in the audience to stand up and really get into it. Al’s performance was top notch, utilizing some well choreographed gangstas and a gaggle of nerds on Segways. And I think one of the said nerds was SNL cast member Andy Samberg, famous for the “Lazy Sunday” skit that became an uber-popular viral video on YouTube.
Check out pretty much ANY video on VH1 VSpot from the Big in 06 event for bits with Al on the red carpet, answering questions about 2006, predictions for next year, backstage interviews during rehearsals, etc. Apparently Fergie thought the Best Web Hit was gonna go to Al because she thought the video was just so good. And Ice-T said he was excited to meet Al and looked proud to be the one introducing him. Seriously, just look at ANY video they have and there’s bound to be some Al in it. Enjoy the plentiful Al-ness over there.
And in other news, Weird Al is today’s feature article at Wikipedia! Awesome!

See, if Fergie thought Al deserved it, WHY DIDN’T HE GET IT?!?!
We Al fans need to get out act together and VOTE more….

I thought that too, that one of the dancers looked to be Andy, but all of the choreography seemed to be pretty complicated for a sketch comedy performer. But dang it, that guy looked just like him if it wasn’t him.
Also, I saw Bermuda on the boards and Jim and Steve rapping, but I didn’t see the new guy. Did Ruben not perform with the rest of them or did I just miss him?
