Weird Al’s YouTube Videos
Looks like Al has been keeping himself busy offstage for his fans as well. Lately his Youtube account has been filling up with lots of past videos like The Saga Begins, It’s All About The Pentiums, and one of my favorites, the ‘Al in the studio’ footage that was include in the DVD side of ‘Straight Outta Lynwood’ DualDisc.
Ah, the bit with Nina at the very end is soooo cute. Anyway, as of right now there’s 21… no wait, 23… 24 now… video available for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!
(Thanks for the reminder, Richard!)

27 years ago today, while on The Dr. Demento Show for a radio interview, a 20-year old kid named Alfred told Dr. Demento that he had written a brand new parody that he would like to debut live on the air. Also at the studio that day was a young drummer by the name of Jon Schwartz. Al asked Jon if he would bang on Al’s accordion case while Al sang his new song on the air. After a few practice runs in the studio’s hallway, Al, Jon, and the rest of the assorted cast of characters who were at the studio that day performed the Queen send-up “Another One Rides The Bus” live on the air. Dr. Demento had the foresight to record this historic event, and the song became an instant hit, helping to launch the career of “Weird Al” Yankovic. The rest, as they say, is history.
