Whoa, there’s some big news on Weird Al’s MySpace blog… HE’S GOING TO RELEASE A NEW SINGLE IN ONE WEEK!!! Read the full scoop on his blog! This is some incredibly awesome news.  Tell your friends and families and neighbors and coworkers and all their families and neighbors!   And make sure to tell them to buy a copy the first week it’s out to help it hit the charts!

A few months ago, Al and the band dropped by the studios at XM Radio and
recorded an hour-long special called “Artist Confidential,” featuring candid
interviews and live performances… and guess what? Now they’re going to
air it! So if you or any of your hip friends happen to be an XM subscriber,
be sure to check out Al on “Artist Confidential” on Monday, October 13.
It’s scheduled to run on Channel XMX for 24 hours straight, starting at
12 midnight.

Brian Raftery spent quite some time with Weird Al and wrote up an AMAZING profile on him in Issue 16.10 of Wired magazine.   Brian delves into his influences in everything comedic, gets a tour into the Yankovic household (so jealous!),  interview friends, and even gets a peek into a zip file that’s FILLED with working notes and drafts of his work with Straight Outta Lynwood (SO INCREDIBLY JEALOUS). There’s stuff in there that even I didn’t know about.  Did you know Heavy D formerly owned his house?  Okay maybe YOU did, but I didn’t!

Woo hoo! A nice big slab of concert pictures and fan art have just arrived at WeirdAl.com. Have a looksie! And there also seems to be a special treat for those who are fans of the American version of The Office on NBC. Very interesting indeed. Will Al be the new office temp hired to keep Dwight from killing Jim? Will he be gunning for Michael’s job? Will he and Pam have secret romantic trysts while Jim is stuck eating his way out of a silo filled with coconut marshmallows? Tune in next time to see!

Well, now that the tour is finally over, Al finally has an iota of free time to relax, spend quality time with his family, and make a post to his MySpace blog. Some important points he mentions:

1. The next tour won’t be for a while, as usual. However, it will be REALLY different than before.
2. He divulges the mystery behind the Al’s Brain sign that’s been seen at the Orange County Fair.
3. Concert pictures shall be posted soon. Keep an eye out at WeirdAl.com
4. Al’s gonna try something new on iTunes. Maybe we won’t have to wait three years for his next album.

Sounds very exciting. Can’t wait to see what’s in store!
