Hey everyone,

It’s been a while since I gave an update, so I wanted to remind you all it’s that time again! Today was the deadline for getting applications in for the next batch of stars. We’re good there, we already sent in our updates last week, so now we just need your help sending good vibes to Hollywood. Cross your fingers, toes, arms, legs, eyes, and whatever other body parts are flexible enough. Whatever it is that brings good luck!

I’ve always maintained that Al’s accomplishments more than make him worthy of having a star, so now it’s just up to the committee make the right call. Based on previous experience, they will likely meet over the next week or two, and we should have their decisions shortly after.

Next month is already going to be pretty exciting for Al and his fans, with his international tour kicking off on June 16, in Rehoboth, DE. How cool would it be if we got the thumbs up this year to coincide with the start of the tour? Now that would be awesome!

So Al tweeted a pay phone number at the airport yesterday where he said he’d be available for a quick chat for 15 minutes.

Yeah, that definitely sounds like Al.  How hilarious is it that he’s peddling meat to the hapless song protagonist?  Thanks for the info Relmin!

On Friday, Weird Al was on Comedy Death-Ray on Indie1031.com with Scott Aukerman and the two ladies from the comedy group Garfunkel and Oates.    It’s a hilarious interview including a cover of “One More Minute” by G&O which is very NOT family-friendly, and a very thorough discussion about spiders, amorphous blobs, and bathroom attendants.

A few days ago, Weird Al had posted this mock cover of MAD magazine with himself and Alfred E. Newman.   Where did it come from?  How did it get here?  Where in heck am I?

It turns out that long time friend Sandra Boynton commissioned Tom Richmond, an illustrator from MAD magazine,  to create the artwork as a belated 50th birthday gift for Al.  How awesome is that?  Check out the full story on Tom’s blog.
