and the California State Fair date in Sacramento has been changed to Aug 1.

After years and years of playing the same songs on stage, Al is going to let YOU suggest some songs he add into the setlist of his next concert tour. He made this announcement via a tweet.

I’m putting together the set list for my 2010 Tour tonight – which songs (other than the super-obvious ones) would you like to see included?

So if you’ve always wanted to hear Franks 2000″ TV, or pull some of those musty older songs he did EONS ago like “Brady Bunch” or even something a little more obscure like Mr Frump in the Iron Lung or even Still Billy Joel To Me, now is your chance! Just tweet to @alyankovic and watch your request be ignored!

Don’t send in too many suggestions though. Al and Suzanne should be celebrating their 9th anniversary instead of looking at your pitiful suggestions. We here at the Yank Blog with them a Happy Anniversary and hope they have many more.

Woohoo!  It’s official, the next Weird Al national tour has begun.   The first concert booked is in Costa Mesa, California at the Pacific Amphitheater on August 13th, 2010.   Go to http://tixx1.artistarena.com/weirdal/ to sign up for the special internet pre-sale to get early access to purchasing tickets.

Ever wonder what Al sounded like in concert 24 years ago? Wonder no more – Wolfgang’s Vault is showcasing the 1984 Weird Al show at the Tralfamadore Cafe in Buffalo all this week!

A fellow Yank Blog commenter, Stephen DesRoches, shares with us some amazing concert photos of Weird Al at Victoria and Coquitlam in British Columbia. One to get shots from the front row of the balcony, and the other at front row center. Nice!

I particularly like the shot of the one fan who somehow got to get a personal pic with Al while he’s singing. Ha! Wish we could find the picture that that guy took. Feel kinda bad for the security folks who had to hold back the many other fans who tried to do the same immediately afterwards though.

Well, the tour is sadly over.  Al and the gang have ridden off into the sunset.  Here’s what the official site has to say:

in the U.S., Canada, New Zealand and Australia.

Yep, the final leg of the tour is finally under way. Weird Al and the band are riding around in a big ol’ bus going across the country to entertain and delight folks wherever they go ( And to see how many hotel soaps they can each collect.
